Default Might dyno my V6 on Saturday

I may have a chance for a free pull on a dyno on Saturday. I have never done this in my life. My 2011 V6 is bone stock, just like out of the show room. It has 30,000 miles. Any pointers? What should I expect?

Add as many performance parts stickers as possible. they are worth 5hp each.

let us know the results.

check your air pressures, turn off the GD traction control, Worry more about your shifts than 'nailing' it for time (clean, not slammed) and report back on how it goes.

Don't forget to note what sort of dyno your car was measured on and what the ambient temperature/humidity was.

Remember that a dyno is a tool - no more and no less.

If you want braggin' numbers, put the car on the dyno and cool it down to ambient temperature before making the run. This will give the best chance of avoiding power-robbing heat soak.

If you want to know what to expect in the real world, drive it straight onto the dyno, do not shut it off, and do the pull. That will give you the readings as close to the real-world conditions that you can get.

Most dynos have a "correction factor" option to account for ambient pressure and temperature. Try to get the corrected graphs, rather than the raw values.

Other than that - have fun and post up! What year and setup is your car?

Well that was fun. My bone stock 2011 3.7 V6 did 234.67 HP and 215.03 ft lbs of torque. I edged out a club member's about a 2004 GT by 2 HP. The dyno was a DYNOJET 224xlc. Temp was 77.47 and humidity was 16%. Here is a quick video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQ99J...&feature=email

235rwhp sounds a little low - that would put drivetrain losses at 23%. The torque seems to be on par, but I would question the HP.

Do you have an automatic?

In comparison, the old 4.6 V8 (rated at 300bhp) in 05-10 GTs typically produced 265rwhp with the 5 speed and 250rwhp with the automatic.

According to Wikipedia, Littleton, CO is 5351ft above sea level. Might that have an effect, even with the correction factor?

Actually, on the bottom of the graph, you'll see the SAE correction factor was 1.23....which is a LOT and probably from the altitude.

Automatic?

Gotta love that SOUND!
