Default 2013 transmission issue

So my new 2013 w/ auto trans will not break the rears loose. If brake is applied and gas pedapedal mashed the engine will hold at 2K rpm (yes the advance trac is turned off) I took it to the Ford dealer and test drove it with a tech, he said that "that's how they are made now". Is anyone else out there having an issue like this? I only have 3K miles on it and am going back to the dealership to discuss swapping for a manual. I am wondering if a tuner could possibly fix the problem. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

I found that same thing on my 2013 when I took it to the drag strip (only 430 miles on it at that time). Almost like a 2 step built in, would not go above 2,000 rpm; I assumed it is part of the torque management system. And like you it didn't matter if the TCS was off or the entire advance trac system.

But I also found using the track app that the 0 - 60 was a little quicker just go off idle rather than taching up to 2,000; a little bit of a surprise.

If you go to the drag strip you want to break them free for a burn out. Going to be interesting when I get the drag radials on if the tune doesn't change the torque management so I can get some heat into the DR's.

I too have this problem...

I have tried EVERYTHING to get a some type of burnout going. And I ain't got nothing working. Chirped the tires ONCE. (And that was going UP a hill)

My 4.0 (RIP) had the same problem until I tuned it. Once I tuned it, I swear to god, things changed, FAST. However, I do want to look into getting 3.55's installed. I even went to evolution performance today, (I live around the corner) and they quoted me at $690 for parts and install. And then $250 to set up a tune on my unlocked tuner. I just came to the point that I was like, "Thank You" walked out, and decided I'm gonna hope for the Intake and Tune from American Muscle to fix the problem.

I'm working hard to resolve this issue for everyone! This is a GT and V6 auto concern and so far I've made little headway with it. As soon as its resolved I'll have a post about it...

Thanks! Doug

Doug is making some headway on this - I've been talking with him the last couple of days and I tried a test an hour or so after the rain stopped tonight and was able to break the tires free pretty easily. Still need to do some more on road testing.

Wait, how did you get them to break loose?

Loaded a 93 tune that Doug did some work on for shifting, turned the TCS off (just one push of the button, I didn't turn off the Advance Track by stepping on the brake and holding the button for 5 seconds). I was really only doing it to test if the rpm's were limited to 2,000 still or if it would me to get a little more on the convertor and accelerate from a stop better - and suddenly "squeal" and a little smoke. The road was wet, but before that tune I couldn't get above 2,000 rpm and even with that the rear stayed put with no movement of the tires.

I don't know if Doug has determined that he got this issue figured out and is ready to declare 'success' - I'm sure he will be studying the information tomorrow and hope he doesn't mind my posting that I managed a burn out tonight doing some testing.
