Difference in CAI's
I recently replaced my 2010 with a '13 Automatic, and I am planning on an Intake and Tune (Before August 12th I hope) and everywhere I look, I can't get consistent results on which CAI is better...
One place I read AIRRAID, the next Steeda, then JLT is always hovering there as a good performer. End of story is, whether I'm paying 270 or 370 for an intake, I want the best bang for my buck. Some assistance on which of the three: JLT, Airraid, and Steeda, is better, would be amazing. (I avoid BBK all the time)
ALSO, how much on the gas mileage side will 3.55 gears affect my car? (I have 2.73's, which suck)

I picked the CAI that seemed like it was the best made ( and American Made to boot). I also picked the Steeda because it boasted the best gains. It is a tough choice though, some are substantially less expensive then others. If everybody liked or valued things the same way there would not be so many options.
You have to dig to find the numbers on gains,
Because the Steeda requires a tune you basically only see the total gains with the Tune and CAI and not the the CAI by its self.
So you have to compare the CAI with a tune and their total numbers if you want to include the Steeda (or other tune required CAIs) in a comparison,,
In the end I added the up the cost of the CAI and the Tune (Tuner with Tunes) and then divided those numbers in to the cost. I figured out how many $s per HP or ft/lbs I was spending. I posted this in the thread "Best Spent Money? (Efficiency)" and other threads.
In the end you have to figure out what you value, I spent a little more on my package but I felt like I was getting more power for each of those dollars I spent. It also seemed to me that the product was made out of better materials and I was less likely to have problems years down the road when heat and vibration had time to hammer away.
In a way it is nice to have so many good products to choose from.

I placed my order for the Steeda Tuner and their CAI today, $699.95 delivered.
I think American Muscles lowest price package is $589.99 + S&H and the most expensive is $659.99 + S&H. So I spent more but it is still the cheapest power you can buy dollar for dollar and I got some American made product. I spent $35 per HP and $23.33 per F/LBS for 20hp and 30f/lbs. It is not a lot more power then the other kits offer but how else can you get more power for that kind of money?

these are real pictures (click on them to enlarge) of the product for the 3.7, taken by people how are installing them as apposed to a stock photo from an e-tailer, makes it all so real. I am not sure if those JLT carbon fiber units are still available but I am sure their standard model is.

Jay said that he had a problem keeping up with demand because of his supplier so ended up just going with ABS plastic. The color matched tubes are very nice too. I have a CF tube since I purchased mine early on, but would love a grey tube. I'd probably paint my strut brace to match too.
