Stock 3.7 strong enough for procharger kit?
Hello all,
I have a 2012 Mustang v6 with the 6spd manual. I am looking at the 475hp procharger kit and was wondering if the stock internal parts are strong enough for the added hp. I don't beat on my car but was just wondering what the guys with the prochargers could tell me and what if anything I would need to upgrade before installing. Thanks in advance! Justin |
Welcome to the forum!
475 HP should be fine, even at the rear wheels. Procharger like to quote crank adjusted values, but even so, it would make for a stout V6. Anecdotally, the 3.7L V6 has gotten up over 500 HP...the limit looks like it's around 525-550. At that level the bottom end gets a little weak. Wish they could get a 2013 kit together....I'd be on it yesterday! |
Thanks for the reply windy. Shouldn't the kit that is for 11-12 work for a 13? I dont see why it wouldnt work?

Stock mine made 430 RWHP. I am pushing 460 RWHP now with exhaust and 9lbs of boost No problems for 19K miles and plenty of drag runs.
