Default O/R X-pipe

I purchased a o/r x-pipe and love it, Only thing its way to loud with my Roush axle backs.

I currently have the stock axle backs on the car, but hate that it now sounds like a high powered lawn mower with all the rasp. lol

Anyways, I would love to keep using my Roush axle backs, does anyone have an Idea on what I could do to lower the sound and rasp? Would putting the stock cats back on the car help at all?

Thanks.

Resonators.

I ran the Lethal xpipe for a year or so with the stock axlebacks. When I swapped to the longtubes and Macs, I planned ahead and got my dad to find my a set of stock GT resonators. Greatly reduced the rasp, but you will likely never completely clear it up.

Here's a clip of the exhaust now....

Thanks, and you car sounds nice I like the little bit or rasp like you have right now. Should I try cutting off the stock mufflers and resonators off the stock h-pipe, or do you think I should just find a shop and get some GT resonators installed?

I'm thinking you mean re-installing the stock cats into your new xpipe? Please don't do that, lol. That would totally defeat the purpose of the o/r xpipe.

I would say the cheapest route would be a $25-$50 set of OEM GT resonators (maybe even free if you run across the right fella) welded into the catback. Some folks think that the further upstream the resonators go (say right after the pipes "x"), the more rasp is taken out. I'm not too sure about that theory, but I think with those Roush's, the resonators are a must.
