Default Exhaust drone from Bassani exhaust

This is somewhat related to another thread mentioning droning or raspy exhaust, but I only have the droning sound going up a hill around 12-1400 RPM. I just put bassani's straight through axle backs on a 2012 V6. Has anyone used a sound deadening material (like dynamat, but I'm looking at cheaper variations on ebay for about $100 for 25sq ft) Just wondering if will make any difference if I do the trunk area and under the rear seats? My wife is bugging me to take them off and while I like the soung when I'm on the gas, I have to agree, it bothers me at those rpms. I was going to buy the Borla s axle-back but saved $150 with the bassani's. I hope I'm not going to be sorry I went with the bassani's.

I have a 2013 V6 with the Performance package. This means mine came with the 19" wheels and no spare tire. I have Borla Stinger axelback. When I put my stereo in I did the top and bottom of the trunk lid as well as the backseat while I had them out. I found that it helped with vibration alot and drone a little. I used Focal mat BAM XXXL I linked here. I think what you would would need to cover the whole backseat floor and trunk floor in order make a significant difference.

Good luck.

Thanks, I'm going to try it. Hope it cuts down on the droning, that I'm thinking is caused by resonance vibration in floor. Just wanted some people with personal experience. Thanks again

I think J pipe will help with drone. My friend's Camaro was droning after putting an aftermarket exhaust. after he got J pipe welded on to his exhaust, the drone was gone.

Not sure what a J pipe is. Do you have a photo of how it's set up?
