Default BEST APPROACH TO RACING FROM DIG

I have a 2014 automatic V6 Mustang and I was wondering if sport mode is actually better than just leaving it in drive? I know I should turn traction control off and I also know that I can shift it in the higher rpms. But for someone reason it still feels a little slower than just leaving it in D. Let me know
thanks

Well, for one thing, when you have it in Sport mode, it locks you out of 6th gear. I use the sport mode around town alot, and drop it into drive on the Fwy.

What do you mean by locking me out? I'm able to shift into 6th in sport mode. I've done it many times already.

You can manually shift it into 6th Gear, but it won't automatically shift you into 6th Gear when you are in Sport Mode.

This is just my 2 cents as a 5.0 driver with an Auto and Select Shift, the delay is too long between shifts when using the button, so if you're going to race at the track (the only place you should be racing FWIW) I say just leave it in drive and go
