My '13 Base V6 Auto came with a Spare tire.
Sounds like it might be a CAFE thing The Perf Package has different gears,
so the MPG is lower.
Maybe the weight savings from no spare tire, mitigated the MPG loss

I looked on ebay and a local wheel shop had plenty of stock Mustang rims on hand, he sold me a like new rim and a nice used tire for $100 mounted and balanced. He had both the plane rims and the 2 tone ones. I went back later and sold him my AR rims of my wrecked Explorer. it worked out nicely.

That being said I am not sure I would bother buying a spare tire if I had to do it over. I have driven 53k miles with a spare tire, jack, and wrenches that I have never needed. All the while I have the fix o flat compressor and a AAA membership. Maybe it was a waste of money and extra weight? Maybe having a spare tire is an obsolete concept for most drivers?

The "fix a flat" will ruin the tire air pressure sensor, this makes it a pretty expensive option. I bought a tire repair kit (plug) and I've used it once.
I've used the compressor a few times at rest stops to fill other people's flat tires, It's nice to have if you have a slow leak. I have no plan to keep a spare tire in the trunk.

Do a search on the forums before rushing out to buy. Someone has a complete spare kit for $100

Rather than Fix A Flat, look for a product called Tire Jack. It is supposed to be a lot better than Fix A Flat. I carry a can in my cars and even in my motorcycle.
