Need exhaust help, Please
Today I was putting on a whole new exhaust. got everything off and on except I hit a snag at the mufflers. I cant seem to get the mufflers to come off of the mid pipe that goes over the axle. Am i missing something? or is it simply stuck and needs to be spray and persuaded off? Any help is appreciated.

Try hitting it lose with a rubber mallet. That's pretty strange . maybe they were welded on ? Just gotta twist them off. Should be the easiest part !
Also disconnect the mid pipe from the h pipe and pull the pipe going over the Axel away from the muffler. That always helps. Gotta loosen that pipe first. Might be too tight to remove.it from the muffler. No wiggle room. |

Good to hear! Congrats, that looks awesome!
I am going with the same setup, ford racing cut and clamp x pipe (CA, need cats), and the BBK shorty headers How's the sound difference so far? What axel backs are those? The x pipe and shorty combo is a no brainier for under $500 on our cars imo. As long as you can do the work yourself, that is. I can't work on my car without a can of WD-40 penetrating spray. It makes everything much easier. |
