Default opinions bout the 351?

Well I was talkin to one of my friends from new york that has a pretty sweet 300zxTT, and just recently he bought an 89 mustang hatch 5.0...(his trucks e-brake doesn't work, and parked on a hill...u guys do the math...hadta buy somethin to get home, and wat better than a stang right?) Well the car is pretty much shot but wat do u expect for 500$ bucks. Anyways I was talkin to him and he's gonna have to swap out motors if he ever wants to drive this more than 2 more times. He was tellin me since he already has to make the swap he's gonna go for the 351. Well I was thinkin about myself as a casual driver who of course loves to air it out, and was wondering: "is it even worth it for me to put in a 351??" Honestly, I don't think so, I think a nicely modded stang would be enough for me to handle and have fun. But I was just wondering how u guys felt, if you could, would you guys swap out ur engines for a 351??

Justa thought, and the hour and a half long trainride home was an inspiration for this one too lol

im pretty confident that most people would.

more cubes, stronger deck, and 90% parts interchangability with a 5.0.

what is there to lose.

i would love to get ahold of a 351w roller. to take the place of the 306

make sure you get a roller 351w. and they make a kit you can get from summit to drop it right in.

Ha yea itd be sucha sweet set up..I just couldn't see myself needing it that much to scrap a perfectly good engine in the 302. At least for me, I'm not realy into the track yet, do a littler messing around on the road, and idk bout u guys but 400rwhp is VERY nice, and sounds like it could satify me. Ha but yea maybe this wasn't the best question for a noob to ask lol. But hey, long trainrides will cause for some pretty stupid questions I guess?

the roller block is the last block you want. Factory roller blocks are for the kids that dont know how and dont want to occasionally lash valves, not to mention they are among the thinnest casted 351's. There is nothing special about the factory roller block.

I really want to switch the 351W out of my Bronco, put my mods onto it, and then put the 302 into the Bronco with the 351W stuff on it...If that would work. I just don't have the resources...But damn would I love the extra cubes. That and the fact that my 351 has 213,xxx miles on it...I would probably rebuild the whole bottom end and valvetrain before swapping it over.

im just partial to roller blocks smoother revs IMO.

nothing against non-roller blocks though just my preference.

ya I think your confusing a hydraulic roller cam with a flat tappet. Run a roller cam in any year block. And solid flats and solid rollers make more power than a hydraulic
