351W -> 393 Stroker
Ive heard that a 351W can be made into a 393 stroker by simply putting in 302 pistons and a different crank. True? And if so, would it be a bad idea to get a 351W from a junkyard? I am thinking about doing something like this if possible.

yes, this is what i was thinking about. what power numbers would we be looking at for that setup with AFR 185s and a carb? and with efi and typical bolt ons?

Totally correct. That is the exact basis of the Ford Racing 393 short block and long block they sell. It also does not require any notching on the block to clearance the added throw of the crankshaft.
