Default 351 Into a 99-04

This is the project that I have in mind. Put a 351w into a 99-04 mustang. I know that I will need to use the motor mounts from a 94-95 5.0 and freme mounts also. Where can I buy headers do I have to custom make them? I also know that I have to use a 94-95 5.0 bell housing for the transmission to bolt on the 351w. I want a 4 barel carb with aluminum gt-40 heads etc...
Please advise what else do I need for this swap. I'm more woried about the headers.

You have to change the whole K-member, change the motor mounts (94-95), Several companies make headers (94-95 headers are correct). You will need to change the whole tranny to a tremec or T-5 from a 95 and earlier car. You will also need to convert your fuel system for a carb set-up.

it might be easier and just as expensive to just put a 5.4 mod engine in the thing. I know there are people doing that but Its still kinda rare so you would be one in few with it. just my .02c

thanks for the reply and info provided. I want to do this swap because I don't want to deal with computers, sensors, etc... you know what to look for when something is wrong with an old engine then a new one. A recent engine will take a lot of money to fix specially if it has an electric, sensor, injectors etc... problems.

why dont you just buy a 94 it might make it easier and then you can sell the 99+ and have some extra cash b/c this is going to be a pricey swap

It's going to God-awful expensive!! Take it from someone who's learned the hard way. If cost is no object, then my question is; Why do you want to do this in the first place?

Well the k-member is like $230.00 engine just like I want it $5000.00(I will put it together) transmission (t-5) $500.00 and about $1000.00 in extras(that's if the car is already a 5-speed). no major changes. I personally think that the 4.6 is not going to give me a lot of power (too small), the 5.0 needs almost the same kind of money to fix than a 351 but of course the 351 will give you more horses for almost the same kind of money and it is a stronger block (60's and 70's block). (I just like to do things the hard way) And I want to use the 99-04 body stile because I like it better than the 94-98, not that I don't like it, I do but I prefer 99-04.
(please correct me if I'm wrong in the expenses) I will do all the work in the car with some help of course but that is why I think it shouldn't be to expensive.

Sounds like you want to keep it n/a. If so, that helps to justify the need for more cubic inches.

Don't forget about keeping the computer happy.

Good luck.

Thanks.

I hope my car is done by July too =)

It was supposed to be done by xmas, but the tech doing the work let his wife have a baby. He's now on vacation for two weeks. The nerve of some people. ha ha
