it will never be legal with a 351w in it, b/c they stoped making the windsor in 97 or 98...legally you can not put an older engine into a new car. in your case it just doesnt work b/c they stopped making the 351w by 99 if your car was say a 97 then you would be fine. atleast thats what i believe the law was, but i think you should call up your DMV and ask

i dont know exactly but i pretty sure there is a law that you cant put an older engine in a newer car. like and engine that was not in production for the ear of that car, best bet is to just call your DMV take you 20minutes tops

There is no law governing age of the engine. The engine just has to be emissions certified for that year in a vehicle in the same class. It would be possible to certify it since Saleen built a S-351 in 99. Next problem. It actually won't certify because it is no longer OBD II since you went carb. and with long tubes. With OBD II they don't do the tail pipe sniffer test. They hook it into your computer. 95 is the last year of the sniffer test.

Being carb'd it won't pass even though the emissions certification was valid for that year. It was valid for a EFI combo. When dealing with the year of themotor issue, it only comes into play when dealing with kit cars or street rods. In most states if you build anew kit Cobra and install a 1964 motor it has to meet 64 emissions. This does not apply to regular production cars.

Baisically if you have emissions of any sort, this will not pass because they have to check the OBDII and you no longer have a computer. They dont check emissions, they check your computer, since you have no computer anymore, your screwed.

i know a 4.6 k member will bolt up to a 302fox body car, but i dont think the motor mounts will work, because the stud on the motormount is set back about 2 1/2 inches.(but you can make your own mounts)
something to think about.... ive never done it either, but...if you bought a kmember for a fox body car, and used 302 mounts, im thinking it might work??
waiting on some advice on this subject too, im thinking about putting a 408 in a 2000 model.
