Compression Question
Alright Im trying to get around 600rwhp out of the windsor project that Im going to be starting very soon, I plan to start off with all forged internals for the 408ci stroker shortblock, and I will be using a production block. Im planning on getting a TFS Box-R upper & lower intake, along with the JEGS/Kaase 247cc intake 2.10"/1.60" valves with 60cc chambers. There are two things that I am stuck on, the cam & what compression to run. Do you guys think i can hit 600rwhp @ 10.1:1 or will i have to go higher then that. I plan to run it N/A for the rest of its life. I just dont wanna spend money on race gas if I dont have to. Thanks

RE: Compression Question
10.1 to 1 is a good maybe a litle higher around 10.5 but thats all u need. u can always go higher, if u would like. for the cam i would def recommend a custom grind, or if u must go another way than a comp cam or crane. they are the best at that.

RE: Compression Question
good luck getting 600rwhp out of a 408W
they usually make 425rwhp in a streetable version running about 10:1 compression you will need some boost and an aftermarket DART block wouldnt be a bad idea either. turbo 408W with about 8-9psi would get you there. or a turbo 351W with about 12-14psi will get you there too. you can always try and spin it to 8,000 rpm, but then its not going to be very streetable at all. |
RE: Compression Question
yea what he said, jsut go cleveland, a 408 clevelandis definately more likelytohit 600 rwhp than a windsor. plus u can do it with the stock cleve 4v heads.
