Default 351 swap...lots of ?????

what kind of power is a stock 351w putting down

which is a better choise, carbed or fuel injected. ( for a supercharger and nitrous)

can a carb'd be converted to fuel injected by swapping intakes and some stuff from the 5.0
if i enlarge the bolt holes to fit gt40ps, will they flow better then stock windsor heads

if running the stock computer fromt he 5.0...whats the biggest cam i can put into the 351
any other tips or anyting will help

1. #'s i found were 280 to the wheels and 357 to the crank.

2. the how big of a cam you can put in there will be determined by the valve springs in the heads... because if the springs cant handle a big stroke you will end up dropping a valve.

3. carbed will cost less than efi, but what kind of supercharger do you want? a config or a roots?

4. i highly doubt the gt40's will flow higher than the stock 351 windsor heads, but i could be wrong on this one.

thats all i could answer for you, i hope this helps

depends on what year and model the 351w came out of but what 90mustang said is whats common for the run of the mill 351w

fuel injected is always better if you have the money for it IMO

yes it can be converted but you will need a different lower intake manifold, b/c the 351 is bigger and modify the fuel rail just a bit

the gt40 i believe actually came on the early lightnings so they probably flow better, and even if they didnt I still think they flow better, but i could be wrong

Im not a cam guy but I wouldnt get to radical with the cam using a stock computer, just using it with a lightly modified 351w is pushing it

and 90mustang, what the hell is a config supercharger? Ive seen you say it before, and I still dont know what you're talking about

For the crappy heads you are putting on there you are wasting your time.

You will not make much more if any more power than a 302 with same parts.
You'll have a ton of low end torque but no more top end power.

351's take A LOT of air at upper rpms.
WAY more than any ported GT-40's will allow for high hp

You need to save up for some cast iron RHS 200's, then you'll be cook'n

or just throw those same parts on a 302 and save the headaches
