RE: Who on MF has a 351W Powered stang
The advice I can give you on a retro block is go ahead and do a roller conversion, girdle the main caps no matter what anyone say's, go big on heads for the stroker and you are limitless on your cam choices. I have never ran retro blocks (60's and 70's) but run with a ton of guy's who have built HUGE power with combo's like the guy above has. Bennett does fantastic work, they really know what they are doing. The 408 I have right now is waiting on head work, and they will most likely be the ones to do it, then Reichart Racing for the breadbox upper for the TFS/R lower manifold. I know a guy running on a 1970 Windsor lower roller coversion and has the fastest N/A TFS R headed car in the country.

If you want big power I would build a clevor. go the chi web site and look at there 3v heads with the intake they sell. With a custom soild roller cam you can get anywere from 650-750 depending on how you build the bottom end. Do you plan on going carb or fuel inj. either way you can make big power with both. If you plan on that route you will probable have to step up to a world or dart block because around 750 is were a stock 351w block might fail. If you do not prep it right, if you keep your block get is machined by someone good and have them change to four bolt mains with a gridel for a stronger bottom end.

750hp or rwhp? i wouldn't do a 4blt conversion on my roller block since it would only weaken it. if i had a 69-70 i would do it. i also thought about doing the girdle just to help prevent main cap regardless if it strengthened it or not.
don't you have to have custom headers made for the CHI heads, and intake? also is there a 250 adapter kit that you have to buy?
do you know much about the TEA heads?

if you want to go with an inline head ya tea is a very good place to buy a set of heads. They have many sbf heads avaible to chose from and they get great numbers too. The headers I have can be reused and yes you will need to buy there intake because a 351w intake will not fit. and there is a kit you need to buy becuse the windsor and cleavland have different coolant passages. I would go with bennett or tea's ported r-series or high ports with a big hyd. roller with 408 or 418 stroker kit that will give you a good bottom end and with that combo you will be well within your hp range. The numbers I have seen with the chi heads were on a 434ci windsor motor with there intake and made 720hp and 700fpt and that was in the jegs engine masters build off. So they make sirius power if you have the money. As for bennett and tea there heads ported will make big power as well for around 2500-2700 depending on what you want.
