Default changed 350rwhp build with 8.5:1 C/R and a smaller shot of nitrous.

well guys,

i know there has abeen a few of these but mine will be different. I was setup to buy a 400m and do a very unique swap. but that fell apart. so i am looking into a 69 351w engine now. but others are also in my eye. so i want to build a 450-500 rwhp N/A 351-357.

i want to use:

351w
either bore it out to a 357, or keep it a 351.
not sure about heads, but any ideas would be good.
i want to run a 11-12:1 C/R
i want a large cam, any ideas would be good.
intake and carb dont know but for a carb a barry grant for sure.

if anyone has any good ideas or help i would really appreciate it.

thanks all

UPDATE:

hey guys i was also thinking about going with a lower C/R maybe a 8.5-9:1. then fron there i want to get some very free flowing heads (suitbale for a blower). i would like some info for building a 350 rwhp 357w. then i would like to add a 100-150 shot on top of this, then a dyers blower donw the road sooner than the oringinal 5-10 years. maybe within 5. but for now a 350 rwhp engine then add a 100-150 shot of nitrous to yield 400+ or what ever it maybe come to. what are some good heads. intake and cam for a 350 rwhp 357w. the heads must also be suitable for a blown 357w down the road. buti am willing to change the cam, and remove the intake later on.

intake : http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku

carb (you guys think it'll be to much): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MIGHT...47700602QQrdZ1

I would rethink the compression ratio. That is pretty high.

that weiand is crap... get an edlebrock super victor, run 10.5:1 compression, RHS 200cc heads, and a custom cam

for 450rwhp out of 357, going to need BIG heads and compression and custom cam.

For 400+rwhp I would do.

12-1 compression
AFR 205 or Vic Jr. heads
Super Victor intake
850 carb
and custom cam for 6,500rpm power band and 7,000rpm shift point.

get you real close

would it best to go with a 8.5-1 C/R. i would like to run a blower, but thats way down the road. so do you guys think its worth it to change the engine for boost down the road, or should i just build it with the lowed C/R now?? i would like to get a weiand 6-71 or a 8-71. this would be nice. but this is maybe 5-10 years down the road. let me know what you guys think.

First 400 Hp N/A from a 357 is easy.First thing dont buy a BG carb for the same price you can get a custom carb from Prosystems totally worth the money, how do you know if you even need 850cfm.Big heads and big cam and head flowdont mean Sh*t its the volicty of the air and fuel coming in and out of the motor is whats makes power.Lookat my combo custom cam very small compared to a race cam.Pro systems 795cfm carb made for my motor and heads.Canfield 195s out of the box.And a stock stroke windsor running low 10s at over a 130 mph.All the parts I use were custom made for my motor and cost the same as OTS stuff you butat summit.

For 450-500rwhp on pump gas, the smart money goes right for a stroker. Build a 408. That's 50ci (14%) more to use. Your goal would be much easier.
