351 Cleveland . Which flywheel do I choose?
I just bought a 72 mustang with a 351 cleveland four speed. The car was a long term project almost finished when i got it. I just got it going and there is a bad vibration. It happens when the car is moving or not.It does't matter if the clutch is in or out.You see it in the mirrors, feel it in the shifter, hear it the dash. I looked under the hood and the harmonic balancer looked smooth. I took it to a transmission place thinking the flywheel was warped or something. The guy at the tranny shop thinks the wrong flywheel was installed. The motor wasjust rebuilt to Boss specs and even balanced and at the same time changed to a 4speed.The owner said he bought the 4speed transmiision from one guy,the pressure plate and clutch from the speed shop and the flywheel from another individual. What do you think the problem could be. How do I determine if I should have a 164 tooth or 157 tooth flywheel?
