i believe you are correct. wasnt it the M motors that had the BB pattern?

These are the years of small block that are excluded, and I believe it was the "M" but I am not totally positive on that one babe.

a 5.0 bell housing will bolt up. I know I have done a 302 to 351C swap same patern etc. just get the right flywheel and it will work.

i know for a fact the "m" motors use the BB bellhousing. I was told the 351c will bolt on a 351m so i assumed it was a BB pattern. So i guess the "c"bell housing doesn't fit on the "m"

The 351C uses the same bellhousing as the 302 and 351W. The 351M and 400M use the same bellhousing as the 385 big block (the 429/460 family)
