Default Opinions on my engine

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum, but there is alot of knowledge here to learn from. I recently had a 351w built for my 70 coupe. I kinda went with the knowledge of the engine builder and it seems to be a decent engine. Please give me your input on the build...HP, Torque and suggestions. Thanks!

78 block .060
Stock 70 heads milled .010with stainless 1.84 int and 1.60 ex.
Performer RPM intake with 600 carb
Crane 1.6 rollers guideplates and hardened pushrods
Comp 280H cam .512/.512 230 duration
10.8.1 compression
KB Hyper pistons
Crank grind .020/.020
reconditioned rods with ARPs
Stock distributor with crane cams XR700 retro to electronic

Builder said it was over 400HP. Was running alittle hot, but I advance the timing and it cooled to around 190.

sounds like a good combination...did you get it stroked??, and you could probalby pick up a lot of hp and torque by just switching to a set of aluminum heads

Compression will help, but that doesn't look like 400hp to me.

No, not 400hp and you might not be happy with hyper pistons in the future either especially if you want to spray heavy or convert to huffers or hairdryers.

It is an edelbrock 600 electric choke. Thanks for the replies.. I figured it wasn't 400 HP with the heads, but it will sure lay out a rubber stripe even with high gears. Will be nice to know what the numbers are when I get it dyno'd. Hopefully it is respectable given the investment.

sounds like a fine combination to cruise around in. personally i would up the carb to a barry grant 625 road demon or a 650 speed demon (both vac. sec.) cause that edel 600 is your downfall. i'm guessing you have longtube headers and decent exhaust?

My guess as is, 350-375 @ flywheel.

keep in mind with those heads (and smaller ex. valves) in stock form they made 290hp and more torque than a BOSS 302.
