Why would you want to go with a new block? Why not just get a used machined block, there are a couple people here selling them, look in their sig's. What kind of power are you going for? Build plans yet? If heading for power levels above 600-700hp, get a DART block for 2500. if staying below the 600hp range just use a 69-70 block. If you want to save the cash on conversion lifters (if going roller) get a 94+ block. I know the roller coversion lifters are about 400+. This gives you an idea of what prices are going to be like especially from new blocks. 2500 for a dart or 300 for a used .040" over bored 69 block from addermk2. if you need any helpPM me and we'll talk. Or FASTBLACK (has an amazing setup, that i am waiting for a video of, lol) or FullAuto (very knowledged about 351w)

A used block will be fine, if machine work is done good. What are you plans for power, what will the car be used for, this will give me a better idea of what to tell you.

If you insist on buying a new block then you might as well buy a good one, Sportsman II from FRRP (which will hold upwards of 1200hp ) or of course the Man-O-War or Dart. But there areton of blocks out there for sale at a good price that will hold up to 750hp, then invest a wad into the rotating assembly. If you are going to throw cash at an aftermarket block then you should probably justify it first.

if you are looking for a stock block, then get a used one, it will already be seasoned
