RE: 351w stroked to 408 question
a well built Windsor with some hard block added to it should be goodto around 800hp but if the tune is off to much it can fail. heck at that power even a good block could fail with a bad tune. My friends 351 makes around680 hp +/- a few with a D1 S/C. with no girdle and no hard block in it. and it is a 85 block.it runs 9.89 @138 mph3480# on ET Streets. my other friend with a drilled to make it 4 bolt mains 69 block was running high 8s for 3 years the the block let go but this was in a light car and he was spinning the crap out of the motor. now he has a after market block with blue thunder heads and runs 8.60s and still has not hit the fogger yet[sm=jawdrop.gif]lol its BAAAAD. in a 67 stang. tube car.

alright so i got the stock heads magnafluxed, cleaned, valves refaced and valve seats ground. so time to put those back on and find a decent intake manifold. What would you guys recommend that will give me good power now and also when i convert over to the new heads in the future?

Personally I would not suggest going back with stock heads, however if it is all youo have you will be limited big time until you can get a good set of aftermarkets.
An out of the box 205cc head is better than stock, you don't have to break the bank to get decent heads.

right now its all i can afford. i want it to be a good project car and just put hours upon useless hours of work into it lol. like i dont mind putting it back together now and waiting a while before i get new heads and have to pull the motor. just adds to the excitement of feeling what mods can really do for you.
