Default 351w mustang Sway Bar

I'm currently in the process of swapping a 2.3 to 351w. Everything fits like it should. I have a dual sump swap oil pan with convertible motor mounts. It fits almost perfect except the front sway bar. Is the 2.3 sway bar different? Or is there anything else I can do? Thanks for your help.

I have the same problem with my 1980 which was originally a 2.3 turbo.

I think the 2.3 may use a different sway bar because some of the people I've heard from didn't have any problems but I don't know for sure which engine their cars originally came with. Who's oil pan are you using?

I'm looking for the measurement between the rack and sway bar on a factory 5.0 Fox body if anyone out there has a minute to check......

what issues are you having with the sway bar?

if its hitting the oil pan on the front of the motor... you could modify the end links... shorten them. this will bring the swaybar slightly forward, and away from the oil pan.

Sway bar in my '89 is definitely VERY close but cleared for sure.

I would try looking at a 5.0 and see if you notice any real difference.

That's pretty crafty - I hadn't thought of that. I punched out a couple 5"x2"x3/8" plates that I was going to use to step the center section forward if I couldn't figure anything else out.

I cut and transferred mounting holes to make a couple of shims out of 1.5" square tubing to lower the sway away from the oil pan and used longer bolts to install. It was a quick and painless mod. If we're talking about the same bar that connects the frame ahead of the motor.

The car was originally a 2.3L Turbo.
