Hey, I'm the new guy. I just picked up an 87 GT, only had it a day so everyone on it is what it came with. Here is what I was told it has:

Engine mods:
359W (351 .040 over)
Holley 750 carb just rebuilt with a Holley trick kit
Offenhauser 360 intake manifold
Stock heads with 1.6 roller rockers
Lunati cam
Forged Eagle crank and rods
Forged Wiseco pistons
Accel coil and plug wires
Mallory points eliminator kit
3 core HD radiator with electric fan

Transmission:

Tremec World Class T5
Astroperformance billet steel flywheel
Ram clutch
BBK adjustable clutch cable and billet clutch quadrant
B&M short shifter

Exhaust:
Chrome headers
2.75" exhaust with custom h pipe
No cats
Magnaflow mufflers dumping in front of the rear axle

FRPP 3.73 gears

Cosmetic mods:
3.5" lift off Harwood hood
Completely stock suspension and breaks


I'm not even sure what a points eliminator is, I'm new to V8s and carbs. He said the heads on it are hold it back so I'm sure I'll be wanting to change those out with something.

The body looks horrible so I'll be dealing with that for the time being, but I really want to know what to expect from the current setup and where to go from there.

Get a good set of heads then throw some juice at it. Probably gonna smoke that tranny if you do that...so look into a solid tranny sometime too.

The guy I got it from tried to sell me the auto tranny ("A" something) with it with some other stuff for an extra 1000 but I declined... is the 5 speed bad?

No, your 5-speed is just fine. It'll probably give out rather quickly if you did what I said though.

With your current setup you'll be just fine. Get some decent heads and you'll be kickin some ***.
