Default Which 351 to use

i am still debating in my head whether to go 347 or 351. Either way I want to say EFI, I don't want to deal with carbs. I want a 350-400hp on motor then it will get a shot of juice or a blower. But first, If I was to swap in a 351 from a donor vehicle, which years and model Fords would have the most compatable 351s in them that would make for the easiest swap? I have a 95 GT 5 speed and as I said I want to keep the fuel injection that is on the car. Yes, I do know I would have to upgrade the injectors and maybe the fuel pump (already have a 190lph walbro in the tank). Is there such a motor that would be mostly compatable to my cars computer and fuel injection system? Thanks

What 351 you get dosn't matter, it is all in preference. 70's-lower 90's will be a non-roller. In 92 or 93 there are roller blocks. You can convert non-roller to roller if you like so you can use hydraulic roller cam. The older the block the better. 69 an 70 are great but hard to come by. Just about any 351 block is capable of around 700 horse at flywheel if balanced correctly.

with just the F250 motor would you notice an increasein power over a bolt-on5.0?

I doubt it. My 93 f-250 is rated around 230 hp, then you have the extra weight to deal with to.

personally i like the cleveland 351, having owned 2 of them, 1 in a 73 convertible mustang and the other customized and put in a 79 F250, they were both strong but the one in the truck was beast and broke a lot of other drive train parts like the yoke on a dana70.... with a cam, good head job, the right compression pistons and EFI that would rock and roll cause the one i had pushed like 400+ with carburation

AND>>>> if you have a 5.0 in the car right now the motor will bolt staight up to ur tranny, motor mounts may be a problem
