If you go with a C-4 get a PA. The warranty is good and they will take alot. Your local tranny guy probably won't offer the same warranty as PA. As far as a glide I only know a few high end shops here that build them .

well i had my 381 before it blew up putting out 491 rwhp though a C-4 with no hickups. i am building a bigger motor now, and i will have no issues keeping that tranny in there.

PA = Peformance Automatic. Google them. They build a C4 that will stand up to the power level you are wanting. If your trying for 740 rwhp then you may want to do alot more research. A realtively stock C4 won't live behind that much power. If your using a stock production block it won't live making that much RWHP very long. The rpms will kill it. 700 at the flywheel is pretty much the limit. As for the tranny weight will come in to play as to which one you want. If your car is not light I would suggest a glide or if you are really concerned about getting the most out of it go with a glide. If its a bracket car then go with a C-4. My last race car ran 8.90's at 3500 lbs. with a PA C4. The PA C-4 lived but, I went 8.76 swapping to a glide. In the eigth it wasn't as noticeable.
