Default 4 cyl to 351 swap

i know theres a lot of stickys with the 351w swap..but i was wondering would it be the same concept goin from a 4cyl to a 351w?

and would it jsut be a drop and go project...i got a c4 to drop in behind the 351w...but wat else would i need to make this work...and aslo it is carbed..and the 4cyl is not

but if somone could let me know if this would be a difficult swap or would it be fairly easy...i just wanna get the motor/tranny dropped in and start it up lol..ill worry about the rear end and stuff later

Hi, I'm currently doing the same thing to my 91, only I put a T5 behind my 351w. Mine dropped right in. I used the convertible mounts for a little extra clearence, but I'm still going to put a new hood on it. You will have to change some wiring, for example for your electric choke on your carb and distributer. You will still need to put the swap oil pan on from ford racing. The only troubles I am having is the sway bar hit the pan, but others on here told me how to fix that. Also, I don't know for sure how I'm going to put AC on it since I have a pickup compressor and serpentine belt set up. Hopefully it goes well for you! Merry Christmas!

I haven't put my sway bar back in yet, but I was told I could lengthen or shorten the end links, or just put a spacer in between the sway bar mounts. One other problem I ran into; my car was originally an automatic and when I converted to a t5 the slip yoke was a different diameter on my driveshaft,so I swap it out for a ford racing aluminum. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Well, What I did was put in a carbed fuel tank sender (with the float cut off)in my efi tank in place of the pump. I'm not sure this is the right way though. Then I connected the fuel sender line to the original efi hard line, and plugged all of the return lines.Along with amechanical pump on the engine. The right way probably would be to put a carbed fuel tank, cuz I'm not sure if the carbed sender will interfer with the efi fuel tank float. I have heard of some guys running the efi fuel pumps and putting a pressure regulator on the feed line, not sure about that though either.
As for your wiring, it depends on what you want. I took a diagram and removed all the wiring not needed, and kept what I did like, headlights, airbags, and also factory instrument panel gauges. It will also depend on what you use for ignition, I used a Duraspark set up, but you could use whatever you want.
