351 swap into 4cly
hey guys im new to mustangforums. . However i have been talking about taking a wrecked 1989 ford bronco with a 351w fuel injectedand a 4 speed auto and a 8.8 rear end with 3.75 gears and puting it in to a early 4 banger fox body. All i would have to buy is the parts to do the swap. what would i need out side of new springs, motor mounts, headers and the a new tail shaft to the transmission and mount? would i need to swap oil pans? what about hoods? how hard is it wire? should i go carbed (i have had 4 carbed windsor small blocks)?

I was under the impression that 8.8 rears out of trucks and broncos are far too wide to be stuffed under a little fox. From what I have gathered around the forum most anything is gonna be at least 3/4" wideon each sideunless you snag it out from under another fox mustang or a fairmont wagon. The 3/4" wide thing includes the 93 and 94 fox mustangs, lincoln Mark 7s,late 70s and early to mid80s T-birds before they went to the turbo coupe designwith the IRS. I am sure thereare a couple other obscure rears that can befound but those are the ones iam fairly certian will work. Check the sticky at the top alot of swap info in there.
