Now you have the problem I was just having. Sounds like you need a 157 tooth flexplate with the 10.5 in bolt pattern for the conveter. Double check that measurment on yours to make sure. Here is the one I just bought. There are 3 different measurments on the c4 bellhousing. One calls for the 157 tooth and 2 of them are 164 tooth. The largest of those 2 is accually a c5 trans used on some v6's in the early 80's. I get my flexplate in on monday. It only takes like 3 days for shipping from these guys.
Here are the measurments. (with the bell off and laying flat on the ground, block side on the ground, measure from the center to the ground)
5 7/8 is 157 tooth c4
61/4 is 164 tooth c4
7 is 164 tooth c5

RE: 351w flywheel
Exactly what I just described. 157 tooth is the small bellhousing which it sounds like he has and the first 164 is the large bell for a c4 while the second is a c5. Looks exactly like a c4, just has a lock up style converter and a bit different internals to go with the lock up. The valve body and everything on the case except the bell is the same.
p.s. for those who don't understand the measurment is in inches!

RE: 351w flywheel
i actually ended up finding the right one the day other day...the ones i had were to big...i gues for the bigger c4 bellhousing...but mines a little smaller..so we found a smaller flexplate that appears to fit in find...BUTTT
now im runin into a nother problem..me and a buddy were messin aroud with it all yesterday tryin to bolt up the bellhousin the block...and for some reason the side bolts on bell to the block seem to be fully tightened but before the bell is lined up all the way with the block..but the top bolts go in fine and it lines up...so im gonna go get some shorter bolts and see if that works..i hope to god it does lol..its always some little thing to keep somthin from gettin done
BUT THANKS FOR UR GUYS HELP THO...and i also got 2 flywheels if ne of u guys are in need of them...there brand new...if not ima try to return but somtimes there hesistant on return parts
