RE: Educate me on 351s
I got a 500hp 408w. Cost me about 6500. They're cheap. Are you keeping your car injected or carbed? If you went with a carb you could easily knock about1000 or so off the cost of what I had to pay to build the same thing

I have around 8500 in mine aswell and not much of that is in machine work since I know the guy doing the machine work. To save the money you need to stay with a 351 .030 over. You throw a stroker kit in there its atleast 1000 bucks for a cast one with ok rods and ok pistons.
Like I have said before a 357 with 190-200cc heads, 11 to 1 compression, big cam with the correct valve train, andportmatchedand rpm matchedintake and a decent ignition system can make great powerand turn 7k rpm if desired. You can leave the stock bottom end in without worry if your only going to 6500 rpm. That setup will only run you 3-5 grand and will make plenty of power for a light little fox.
These can save ya the hassle of fooling with stuffwhen your not well versed in the motor they aren't a custom setup like most guys here are running but they get the job done. Just have to tac on that extra 1000 dollars for headers for the swap into the fox and a carburator ontop of the power pack cost.

RE: Educate me on 351s
i'm building mine, i have a friend with a machine shop to so i'm getting a good deal he also ported my heads.... the biggest thing i will suggest is get light pistons and rods... i used billet I beam rods 6.250 inch and mahle pistons, my rotating assembly is ultra light... only thing is my crank looked like swiss cheese when it came back after ballance LOL.... IT'S GONNA BE A FAST REVIN ****!
