Default afr225cnc'd big enough

hey guys over the next 4-5 years im planning on building a 445ci stroker motor. I plan on following the build they had in MM&FF called a grand ole time. I will be shooting for around 1000+hp. I do not know what type of FI i will be using but its either going to be turbos or a supercharger. BTW this will not be going in a street car it will be a dedicated race car that i might take out on the street to mess around with for a few miles. My question is will afr 225 cnc heads flow enough cfm for a build like this? They used TFS hi-ports in the build but I would rather use afr's if possible. Any info will be appreciated.

That block is a great start for a 445 inch motor. But, given what you are doing(mostly race car) and given the block strength you have I would research better heads. You will make a TON of power with heads more capable on those cubes. Blue Thunder 4.3 heads come to mind or the Yates stuff.

yeah that might be a good idea also. i would go with the yates stuff but i want to run efi. doesnt the yates style head have to be used with a yates style intake that is a carb only intake?

You can have the intakes drilled for EFI injectors and run an elbow with a very big throttle body. Seen a twin turbo set up out of New york at an extreme drag shoot out near me that had Blue Thunder 4.3 heads(flow in the 440 CFM range) that was in the 430 cubic inch range making 2300 HP as the owner told me. It was a very low 7second car(7.20's in the 1/4 in a silver Mustang) with the ability of 6.80's with the "bugs" worked out.
