I am not sure on the cam that you need but the rest of the parts are up for the task. The headers I run on my set up are 1 7/8" primary long tube with 3 inch collector and 3 inch exhaust. The carb may be a wee bit small but not bad. I run an 850 on my 351 with great results.

why not 205 AFR heads. no need for porting. most excellent air flow heads. is this a budget build?

Not a budget build but not all out either. I got these heads for $350 and had them port match and ported for another $300. Couldnt pass up a deal like that. I didnt think these are bad heads?

The Victor Jr is a decent head. You got a good buy and nothing wrong with that. Make sure that the springs, and installed heights are up for the task. Only way you will know that is with the camshaft/RPM range you choose to run the thing.

On another note the TFS R heads are as cast and have a 204 intake runner and they out perform and AFR 205 CNC head. Hmmmm, I wonder why?? Imagine the TFS R head with a little porting done to them??

most all 408w's with a good set of flowing heads intake and 850-950 carb with a good cam and nice long tubes will bring u 550 give or take some.. How much total do you have in the whole setup? I just bought a 351W 1974 complete long block for 150 bucks lol.. I was going to lube it up and save it for when my blows lol.. But im thinking of buyn the twr forged stroker kit for 890 bucks on ebay and buy the arp stud kit and put the motor togather on a budget and see how much power i can make with more less ebay parts..

I my self like the AFR cnc machined heads, ive done a lot of research and these heads are performing unreal right out of the box.. but 300bucks for a set of victor heads, not a bad buy.. as far as intake, victor jr or the super victor either one alwsome intakes.. I got a holley 950hp pro carb on my 408, Nice carb setup.. Cam should make that motor sound sick.. but you should reach 500, Im going to say low 500 flywheel and 440 wheel give or take a few..

I Decided as long is I was in the build process I would clean up the heads i bought. I sent out the heads for some porting which will hopefully help alot. I also returned my speed demon 850 and purchased a holley 950.

I've also bought a Zex perimter nitrous system and intend to spray it on occassion 125-175 shot.

From what i've ready hopefully I will be in the 450-475rwhp N/A and 550-600 rwhp on spray.
