noob to 351's please help
so i am going to look a a 351 windsor tommorrow. the guy wants to sell me the block and heads. i can't remember the specifics of the vehicle but i'm pretty sure it came out of an 80's van. he said engine only had 100xxx on it an ran fine before wrecked. i just know down the road i really want to build a stout 408 so i'm thinking of getting it. i am completely noob to this so even the obivious might not be obvious to me so please tell me anything and everything to look for. were they all carbed? efi?, are there roller 351 and non roller? things like this so i can ask and visually see this block. thanks

here is the post
1988 e350 1 ton rearend, engine 351 efi ,good body and glass, e40 auto od trans bad feul pump, dual tanks , hitch, complete except front seats.......$300.00
and then i got a reply from an email
It was a good running engine when pulled (after the wreck). It just turned 100K. The engine, trans & transfer case are still all together. The engine is a windsor. $300.00 or best offer on the engine, trans & transfer case. It was stored inside a cabinet shop until recently

88 will be non-roller.
You don't need the efi stuff from the 351w, as you will use the 302 efi stuff.
The heads won't be anything special.
The intake on that motor will suck in your car, especially with a 408w.
If you are going to build a 408w with it, then all you are buying is the block.
You won't need much else from it.
Casting number is under the starter on the block. An '88 should read 'E8', maybe 'E7'
