Default What gear ratio?

Trying to decide between a 3.73 or 4.10 gears. I have a 89 Mustang with a mildly built 351 carb, T-5 trans and 17" wheels. What woud be the best gear ratio choice. Mostly street use and the occasional race.

Thanks

3.73's are better for the street, they give you nice quick power and not rediculous gas mileage, 4.10's would be better if you were mainly running the track. I think youll find more people with street mustangs run 3.73's but i have seen some 4.10's

I run a 5 speed with 4.30 gears. A 295/50/15 is about 27 inches tall. I pulls the gears back down making the car run about 65 MPH @ 2200 RPM. 4.10 with the right tire selection would be great for the street. Then drop down to a 26X10.50 slick at the track and you have the best of both worlds(street/strip).
