just a few swap and buildup questions

ok guys i have a 79 foxbody with a upr chromoly k member tubular control arms and coil overs. im lookin to pull out the 5.0 and drop in a 5.8. i have a 95 bottom end sitting on a shelf at my shop. its out of a truck so its got the low comp pistons so i plan to pull them out and go with kb hypertuenic flats have the block bored 30 and throw it back together with new bearings and rings. it will be mated to a c4 with a 2k stall speed that has been built to handle around 350hp (if i blow it up i dont care ill jus build it better) what im trying to figure out is what is a good Head cam and intake setup and what size carb do i want to run? im lookin for tons of power off the line traction wont be an issue i got plenty of suspension work done. also will my 302 flywheel work on a 351? and will my block plate work? im looking for as much power as i can get the motor is being built to beat my friends 4.6 so ya take it for what its worth. i have msd on the body so ill prolly go with that and get an msd ready distributer. i dont think theres really any neeed to stroke it up to a 408 or anything the way i see it i have a 302 so bumping it up to 351 should be pretty decent no? i dont realy have unlimited funds here so if there are any good production heads i could get i have some gt40's and some ported e7's but idk if those are any good for a 351 i was looking at the procomps with 210cc runers and 2.05 valves they look pretty nice but im not sure any help would be great . o and how come everyone i know is tellin me that 351's are **** motors??

ok 1st! build the motor the right way so you dont blow it up, puking a motor can destroy EVERYTHING including cylinder heads. save your money and install forged pistons, the stock crank and rods can hold some decent power. next the converter is too small, a 2000rpm converter is adequate for the daily driver not a race car, id say a 3000 stall converter would be minimum, your 302 flywheel will not work, youll need a 28oz 157 tooth flexplate, the blockplate should work. do not put gt40s on a 351 there barely adequate for a 302, dont even think about e-7s either. a decent cylinder head for the money are windsor srs, are there better heads yea of course but you dont need a set of 1400 dollar heads to go fast. if you build the motor with 10-1 compression(depending on ignition timing and cam choice you may get away with high octane pump gas) windsor sr heads, an eddy rpm air gap with a good 750 carb you shouldnt have a problem hitting 400hp. cam chioce is tough without all the build specs of the motor and car, and whoever is telling you that the 351 windsor is crap dont know what the hell there talking about.
