Question 393 stroker true dual exhaust???

I have a 1995 Mustang GT convertible with a 393 efi stroker engine & T-5 trans. the motor consist of forged internals, ported & polished E7 heads with 1.9 & 1.6 valves, 1.7rr, TF stage 1 cam & TF springs, TF 351 upper & lower intake, fox body TB conversion, 30lb injectors, 255lph pump, 3.90 8.8 rear ect..........
my ? is concerning the exhaust system. currently I have a BBK 351 shorty headers,o/r x-pipe & Flomaster 40's with tailpipes. I have a new Spintech catted x-pipe that I hope to install this weekend in hope to relieve some of the interior resonance with the cats.
I am considering going true dual with no crossover & would like to know what effect it will have my performance either good or bad & if so, which way??? Thanks, Joe

What size is your exhaust? If you have 2.5" or bigger, you probably would see no gain at all from having an X or H-pipe in there. When I had my exhaust made I just told them to leave that out, that way it's much, much easier to work underneath the car without having that stupid "H" in the way. Also allows for more room for the driveshaft loop.

Basically whatever makes it easier for you. If there is any gain, it will be very, very minor. For me the ease of working on the car was worth much more than 2 or 3 extra ponies, already have plenty of them. Since you say you already have the x-pipe, and if it fits properly, just put it on. If not, just throw some pipe in there.

Sorry, but you are basically running small block heads on a big block engine.

I would focus first on the puny heads, intake, and cam... if it were me....

Liquid 02, thanks for the input on the exhaust.
concerning the E7's, I have only owned this car for about a month so all the mod's were done by the previous owner. I've had the same thoughts about the heads thinking that they might be hindering the performance ,as the car just doesn't seem to have the power that I expected with the 393 stroker. I don't have the money for heads right now & it is fast enough for me as it (for now) & it is alot of car & motor for the 5k that I paid for it.
anyway, thanks for the input on the heads. also what heads, cam ect... would you guys recommend. I am rather new the performance area of parts. I can do just about any repairs & parts replacement work myself . Thanks again for the input, Joe

For cam and head recommendations, I will always recommend talking to Jay Allen for a custom cam and all the supporting hardware (springs, heads, intake, etc.).
www.camshaftinnovations.com

When you are ready to purchase parts, fill out a buildsheet from his site and give him a call.
