TF twisted wedge heads breathe enough?
I found a set of rebuilt trickflow twisted wedge heads with the 2.02 and 1.60 ferrea valves that have been milled down to 58cc for a great price and I was wondering if these would breathe enough for the 408w stroker that I'm building? My goal is around 450 rwhp.

What TRS head are they? Meaning part number so you can figure out intake runner size and so on. On a 408 inch engine you will need a total volume of 88 cc to come in at 10.5 to 1 compression for pump gas. 58 for the heads about 6 cc valve reliefs and ring lands and about 9 cc for the head gasket. You will need about a 15 cc dish in the piston. With a flat top pistonand those heads you will be about 12.5 to 1 compression.

Well this motor will be yanked soon enough and sold. I'm not buying the heads. But my set up is really nothing special, TFS1 cam, TFS street heat upper and lower, ARP head studs, fel-pro high performance head gaskets, E7 iron heads with massaged exhaust ports (done by me), Novi 1000 pushing 6 psi. All the bolt ons, exhaust, etc.

I did some more reading today and others with big inch windsors are running 225's. I'm haven't thought about the heads much, also keeping in mind the TF-R heads or some big high ports. I'm trying to get over the cost of the shortblock that I'm ordering right now. I guess I'll come to selecting a head after I get the shortblock. My goal is a tad over 500 flywheel horsepower, running a non forged CHP 408 kit in a 94+ block. I've got an 89 block laying around but I figured that between machining that block and the stroker kit, and linkbar lifters. I'd be better off having Jim at Ford Strokers build me a short block in a roller block. Hell, I'm saving $400 just by using a 94+ block and he stands behind his work.
