Default What kind of cams are you guys running in your 408's???

We are doing a buildup on my friends car. Its going to be a 408 with AFR 205 heads, trickflow R intake, 10:5:1 compression. He will have nitrous, but wants the cam more geared toward NA. Please post suggestions! thanks!

COMP XR292 solid roller or something similar. had one in my 357W build and loved it. call Cam Innovations and talk to Jay, he'll make you a damn good custom grind for the car. you can do a hyd roller, but youre gonna need to get the retro-fit lifters for the engine (unless you get an F4TE block, which are hard to find and the the strongest block out there). for the the same price (maybe less), go with a solid roller, well worth the little bit of effort to set it up and maintain it in exchange for godly HP.
just go with NA power, nitrous is for cheaters lol. (plus we dont have the luxury of LS block thats are pretty nigh indestructible... 2 bolt mains FTL...)

that cam is WAYYYYY too small for that motor.
go at least with an XFI 248 cam from COMP for a hyd roller, or (as always) solid roller.
the AFR's will make great power up to .700" lift, and the 22cc dish in the pistons will let you run HUGE cam timing.
plus dont forget that having 408 cubes in essence makes a bigger cam seem "smaller". the extra cubes will make up for the less efficient cylinder filling at lower rpms.
just dont get toooo carried away... no .750" lift cams with 280* @ .050" OK? lol.
