Default Questions about alum heads

I currently have a 302 with aluminum heads and cobra valve covers in my notch right now.I have a 351w I am going to start on shortly,I am doing some research first.
My question is,can I put my aluminum heads from my 302 on my 351w? The 351w is not a roller block,I dont know if that matters or not.
Can someone make a suggestion as far as a nice intake/carb combo for the 351w?
I am wanting a quick street car that if possible I could drive everyday.

Also what about a cam for the combo,I am considering just a stock bottom rebuild, maybe a .30 over bore.I would like to make some nice numbers and maybe even spray it.
Tell me what you guys think??

I am new to carbs,so this is a learning process to me right now.
Thanks

What heads? you may or may not have to drill the heads for bigger head bolts the 351 has 1/2 and the 302 has 7/16. How hard are you gone to spin this thing? is it a auto or stick what kind of compression is it gone to have ?if it is a auto what stall? what gears are you running. More info will help lots more. do you care how it idles?

It is a stick. As far as spinning it,I am not going to drag race it,but I do like to come out of the hole really quick sometimes.I really dont know much about compression at all.Sorry.
I am running 3.73 gears and I would like to keep that like it is.
Idle is very important. I want a nice idle, something I dont continuely have to give it gas to keep it running .

Right now the heads are on the 302,they have the cobra valve covers on them.If they would work,I wouldnt mind using them. How can I find what type they are? The guy I bought the car from said that the heads had 1.6 roller rockers in them with ARP studs. He was full of it with most of what he said though,so not sure about that either.
I am trying to get an idea of what I can sell off the 302 block to help fund the 351w?

do yourself a favour and build a 347 stroker.use the heads you have and a nice 650-750cfm carb and an edelbrock performer rpm intake.10:1 comp ratio, choose a cam to give you power to 6000 rpm.have fun.yes you can use the block you have.it's cheaper than you think.

I have been told that building a 351w was a better way to go. I am curious though,is there a reason for what you are saying about the stroker motor vs 351w?

or toss a huffer on the 302 and call it a day! keep the stock cam for a nice idle and will work great for everyday driving, emissions legal and will still get decent gas mileage to boot. not tryin to talk ya out of the 351w swap but for everyday driving a supercharger is tough to beat.

Ok as far as keeping the motor thats there now,no chance. Its fuel injected. The cam in it sux. It has a 1087 cam new verison. I definitely would like to go with a supercharger, but I have decided to switch over to carb and I would like some more HP.If the stroker is a better thing, then I may look into that.I already have the 351w block and crank, plus the stock heads for it.I have a mild built 302,which needs a new build plan, the guy before me was a bigger idiot when building motors.
So now its just the question of stroker or 351w?
Then back to my original questions, what size carb/intake and cam combo for some decent HP?

Carb size and cam as well as intake is gone to depend if you are gone to stroke it or not. is the block a roller cam block or is it a flat tappet how much money do you have to spend? Do you want to go roller or flat tappet. if it is a non roller block it is gone to get $$ to change it over due to the cost of lifters and or a small base cam if you go that way. I like the Victor JR series intakes but they like the high RPMs or bigger CID and carb could be any where from a 650 to a 750 for a street car

My 351 block is not a roller block,I never really planeed on making it a roller block either.
I had planned on keeping the budget pretty tight at around 2000 with my existing heads.I would like to build a stock bottom end block, maybe put a decent cam, intake, and a carb. I guess if I cant do it on that budget then I will just rebuild my 302,and call it a day.The car is fuel injected right now and it is burning oil bad, gauge says low oil pressure,no noise.I dont want to get into checking it out though,b/c I think the guy I bought it form abused it bad.So a rebuild is in order, just not sure what direction yet.I think I need to call my machine shop guy and see what he says.I know he has told me before that he could rebuild my bottom end back to stock on the 351 for $1200 and the rest was up to me.
