Default C4 in a 94-95? anyone do it?

I may have a bead on a new C4 for little cost and just wondered if anyone has installed one in that body style? Bolting to 351w

Custom fab a cross member or do they sell aftermarket?

Ha, just answered my own question. AJE racing has one for $160.

Will I have to mangle the interior to get the shifter positioned correctly?

Well this may not help you but I just put a C4 in my fox and I got the shifter to fit in the factory location. I cant see it being much different with a 94-95

id prefer to run a AOD with a manual valve body... but if you want to give up your OD... go for it.

You should be able to use your stock crossmember. I'm not completely positive about the 94/95 but the fox crossmember can be adjusted if you grind away the welds that hold the bushing casings onto the cross member itself. Then they can slide back and forth. It will fit just fine. As for a shifter you should be able to use your stock one if you can get your cable to hook up right. They have a 1,2,d pattern so they both have 3 drive positions and the normal N,R and P.

I would get the AOD built though to keep the OD like Adder said but if you find one for the right price then go for it.

Sorry it took me a while to respond been having some medical issues and been in and out of the hospital.... =( great way to start summer.

Anyway I found a '79 C4 out of a 4 cyl car for $50..... Did ford change the internals depending on application back then or were all C4's the same given they were made around the same time? The guy had it setting for years in his garage and figured hed just get rid of it.

So now Im possed with keeping my 4r70w which is already installed and just change the valve body to full manual, or get this C4 and more then likely have to modify drive shaft, and possibly rebuild it. I really dont mind the full manual.... I rarely get to drive the car anyway and just putting it in drive and going is getting boring, lol. Not to mention I have to keep messing with the TCS unit to keep it calibrated right.

Any suggestions ? Do the 4r70w trans made in '98 on differ from V6 to V8 model mustangs?

lol I already am using their TCS unit, works for what it is. I just prefer to go to a manual valve body now. Worked fine though. After I put this C4 in I will be selling the unit.
