Also as far as the swap goes, whats everything i would need? Headers, pan/pickup, can i use the solid motor mounts that are on my 306 or would i need to buy new motor mounts?
302 and 351 Windsor and 351 Cleveland share the same motor mounts, tranny bolt pattern and starter. Headers from heddman for a Cleveland in a fox and a rear sump oil pan from many different manufaturers will do. My car and the notch have Canton pans and can be purchased at summit racing.

I have 2V ported heads and the notch has 4V ported heads. We both use 205 dollar pistons and very budget stuff. Even though we have slightly different heads and the notch has a bigger carb too, the engine in the notch sounds exactly like the one in my white car.

What cam are you guys running? Just confirmed today that my 306 cracked a piston, so its time for a new motor. What do you think i should offer my buddy for his 351?

Just a solid flat lifter cam that was speced out by a good friend of mine at Ford Racing Tech.

wheres the best place to find intake, carb, cam , pistons. What kind of machine work should be done to the motor and heads. i have a 2v motor out of a 71 mustang. with around 50k miles on it

I just had my block tanked, bored and honed with cam bearings installed. Nothing more than a basic refresh. It really is much easier to help over the phone.

can you use the 302 head on a 351c i know you can on a 351w but i know the clevland is stronger and i only want to build it once my goal is to use my complete top end on the motor minus the lower intake part.

The only way you will get a better 302 or 351W head than a Cleveland head is to buy after market heads. A factory Cleveland 2V(meaning 2 Barrell carb cylinder head) is much better than any factory 302 or 351W head. Then there is the 4V Cleveland head(4 barrell carb version) they have factory 245cc intake ports and flow somewhere around 280 CFM stock. Not bad for a head designed 41 years ago.

well i already have trick flow heads so i am good in the head department i just dont know if my top end will bolt up to the cleveland block and what oil pan or anything like that is the swap harder than the windsor.
