Default trading a stock 302 to a na 408 (351w)

I've looked quite a bit to find more info this swap. my 94 is not dis it has a distributor and has a bulit proof aode with a 2200 stall on it. so my biggest question is tuning. ive never tuned anything not obd2. i figure a 255lph pump and a regulator along with injectors and maf is all that needs. is their a guide put together for what injectors with what maf is needed for intended hp. also what about ajustable maf sensors. i found a maf that you can dail up and down manually.

my forged 408 is done. i'll be picking up a set of afr 185s and a intake, carb distributor.

So what is it you want to know exactly? with a 408 i`d opt for the 205s.

They didnt go coilpack til 96 with the 4.6.

Why get a adjustable maf when you are gonna use one set of injectors? you gonna try a few different ones?

If you dont wanna spend 300+ on the dis then go to the parts store and get one for a 92 F-250 (5.8)with remote mounted tfi module! Its like 80$.

thanks i'll look into 92 f250 5.8.
205s would be a good call but i want a solid daily driver. 450-500 hp. my cam is lunati 61004- 233/241 .050" and i dont want to tear-up auto. i do not want to go dis. i thought an ajustable maf would get me the air to fuel i need and i'll adjust the timming.

well i'm open to suggestions. right now i have a complete 1974 351w stroked to a 408. forged eagle crank, eagle H beam rods and forged srp pistons. high compression. in this block i have a lunati cam part number 61004. at .050" tappet lift 233 in and 241 ex 110 lobe sep lift at valve .538in .560 ex. that is my short block. it is done. i have gotten gen 1 lightning EFI intake with 30 lb injectors. also have a maf and msd distributor. 3,000 dollar short block good for 800hp with my main girdle. i built this block for a steal 1100.00. i was just at the right place at the right time when i got the crank and the machinist owed me some machine time.

i'd take a reliable 450hp car or a pain in the *** 600hp any day. the cost diffrence between the 185 and 202 is not the problem. if the 202s would really be better than i'll do it.

ported TFS heads from Fox Lake, a better cam (look into a solid roller), ported Victor intake, at least 42# injectors, 1 7/8" - 3" longtubes, etc etc...

your block is not going to handle anything near 800hp, main girdles are useless, and with those GT40P heads, youll be LUCKY to make 270rwhp and still be 100+lbs heavier than a 302 based motor.

call Fox Lake and tell them what you have in mind and see what they have to say, the combo i juts listed will get you into the 450+rwhp range and if youve never driven a car that fast, its gonna scare the **** out of you...

wouldnt mind looking into a twisted wegde heads but the pistons have to be set-up for it the valves are dif. well just as a ref. afr put their 165's on a stock 302 with a cam that was less agressive than mine and made 403hp. lets say it only made 350hp my engine is 100 cubes bigger or 33% more and my heads will flow 50 more cfms intake and exshaust at the same lift. 30lb injectors are good to 600hp on a 8cyl application. i built a ford 2.3l turbo ranger and ran 42lb injectors to almost 300hp on 4 cyl. also if i run a 72cc combustion chamber i will be 11 and 1/2 to 1. i'm only in the cylinder by 2 thousandths.
