I'm also looking at another stang, also a '89 LX...we'll see what happens, i'm in no hurry
drive that S197 garbage in the winter, leave the fox inside its a collectors item, the S197 will never be...

I love how S197 owners claim to be "Mustang People"...

I'm not putting it away to be a collector's item. It's my first car. I saved up since I was 16 to pay for it and plan on never getting rid of it. I want to keep it in great shape for MY reasons, not to collect it.

I don't know why a Mustang owner wouldn't be a Mustang person. I've loved Mustangs since I was a child and love the retro look of the S197 platform. They are great cars so I don't understand why you feel the need to degrade them. I've been working on Mustangs of every generation for years so yes, I am a Mustang person.

I'd keep the fox on summer only duty, and run the s197 in the winter. I have owned foxes, an sn95, my dads got an s197. I would keep the fox looking nice

its a good looking car and the price does seem reasonable considering the mods....I just have one detail noone mentioned; I've seen ALOT of 351 installs (including my own) and I've never seen one with that much room under the hood. Look at the pic- theres at least 1 1/2" clearance to the top of the cowl panel and the power pipe is no where near the strut tower nor are the driver side drive accessories near the battery tray. Is the cobra set up really that much shorter than the trick flow? looks like a 302 with a 5.8 badge to me.... anyone?? I mean maybe with a tubular K member but the discription doesn't say anything about that and just useing 'vert motor mounts won't get it below a stock hood UNLESS its carb'd not EFI or at least I couldn't... Even with the 'vert mounts I'm still a 1/2" over the fender line and I don't have a phenolic spacer or a long runner upper plenum. Whatcha think fellas? Has anyone else pulled off an EFI 351 under a stock hood? NOT saying the car won't run like a striped a** ape and it is very clean; just don't know about "the facts"....
