I recently purchased a 351W from a guy off the Internets. Stamped with F4TE. I believe that means its a roller motor. Not quite sure what that means I believe it has roller cam and rockers? I would eventually some day like to do a 408 stroker. For now I dont think i can swing that.

I did read some of the stickys and things that I can use from my current 94 gt efi. I will prob not use a whole lot from the 302. I think I want to go carburated and swap out to a t5. A buddie of mine suggested AFR 205 heads but beyond that I have no idea what I need. (intake, carb, RR, cam, extreem noob when it comes to motor stuff. I work in IT) It will be a street car and only driven on the weekends and nice days. The occasional track day. I will def spray nitrous. Beyond that I am open to suggestions. It's like I want somebody to help me pick out the correct parts so I dont get fd or buy parts that dont work etc.

The motor does spin freely so i dont think I will need to replace internals for now. Do I need to change cam? Rockers? lifters?

how much power do you want?

do you want a mild, moderate or rough idle?

i would run at least a scat cast iron crank if you plan on much hp.

if you buy a crank you might as well stroke it

the 351w has cast pistons... I highly suggest you do not spray it unless you rebuild it with forged slugs.

FWIW, I'm running a 1996 F4TE shortblock (cast pistons and all) in my Cobra. It's currently putting down 565rwhp.

I want a rough mean sounding idle. Prob would realistically be able to afford a H/C/I upgrade. I would like to take a look at the motor make sure everything is good. Leave it stock if possible then do H/c/I swap and spray a little. Eventually I would like to turbo/stroke it. Going to put a c4 on it. Looking for suggestions on shifters as well.
