Default Can ya'll 351 guys settle an argument?

A coworker of mine argued with me that there is no way a 351 would fit in a 2004 mustang...when I pointed out the Saleen S351, he got upset and claimed I knew nothing about cars in general, that it was a totally different car. Now, I know the motor will fit in the 2k4 stang, but my question is - what does Saleen do to make it fit in the 04 chassis, anything special? I'd like to bring in these responses and show the guy. Thanks for everyone's time.

A 351 is still a small block so yes, it will fit. A 400 (big block) is another story....

You may have to get a different hood for clearance purposes on the 351 but (like the Saleen 351) but the chassis is the same as a Mustang GT, is the Same as a Saleen 281 and a Cobra... I said Chassis, not suspension, not tranny, not rearend..chassis (platform)

You can fit any small or big block Ford V8 in the engine bay of a 94-04 Mustang. The only one that would be an issue would be a FE(352-428) which is only because they don't make swap mounts or an oil pan the would work. Of course why would anyone want an FE motor in one. A 351 will fit but, it is tough to get all the elctronics working without major mods. Saleen did alot or work to get it in the 99. The only thing Saleen did to get it to physically set down in the engine bay is to modify a set of motor mounts. That is the only thing they did!

The motor in the 94 is actually a 600 ci Boss 429 built by Jack Roush. It's an insane car that I would just about trade my collection for!
