RE: Post your combinations and/or hp.
Here's the engine decription for the '67 fastback I just purchased - any idea what types of HP/TQ numbers this should be getting?
351W (1970 block from a Mach 1), bored .030 with custom cut forged pistons fitted plasma moly rings. Crank has been turned.010/.010 and has chamfered oil holes with matching bearing sets. The heads have stainless steel Chevy 2.02 intake valves and stainless steel Chevy 1.65 exhaust valves. The heads have a three angle valve job with hardened seats 7/16 screw in studs with guide plates and Comp Cams 1.6 ratio roller rockers and 3/8 Chromemoly push rods. The engine is fitted with matching Edelbrock 600cfm carb, Edelbrock RPM Performer intake manifold and Edelbrock RPM Performer cam and lifters. Headmen Elite Headers with 14 gage flange and 2.5" dual exhaust with H-pipe and Flowmaster 40s rounding out the exhaust. MSD Unilite distributor and Blaster II coil.
Any clue on #'s - the seller said it should pull 345 hp+?

RE: Post your combinations and/or hp.
I am new here but is seems like a great place to learn and share knowledge, so this is what I've got so far. I started with a T code 68 Fastback that had already been converted from automatic to 3 speed. The door code said rear gear is a 2.83 and it probably is. Would have expected 4 lug wheels but I had 5 lug and suspension appeared to be a V8 instead of the I6 200ci that was in it. It came with a 390 motor from a 75 truck and a 4 speed toploader that coded out to be out of a 63 Galaxie. I pulled the I6 couldn't bring myself to try to load the 390, so I went about fixing the interior. New high back seats from a 69 Mach 1, floor console, new headliner, carpet, dash, door panells, etc. Converted drum to disc brakes on front. Then I came across the right motor? A 351 Cleveland block bored .030 w/new TRW cam bearings. Full windage tray, forged flat top pistons, Hastings rings, TRW 10/10 rod and main bearings. Hardened double roller timing chain, Melling high volume oil pump, Hyd. R V cam not to radical. All the right stuff.. Rear oiling bypass installed, high perf. shot peened cast rods fitted with Milodon rod bolts, Rhodes Hyd. lifters, Mustang serpentine pulley/belt system. Intake is Edelbrock single plane Torker topped off with a Holley 750 double pumper. I must have stopped thinking there! The heads are 1970 4v quench heads with screw in studs, guide plates, 2.25" stainless Intake valves/ 1.76 stainless exhaust valves. Crane HD dual valve springs w/titanium retainers, hardened push rods, Purple Angus roller rockers-1.73 ratio, out to stainless exhaust port plates and headers that couldn't fit around clutch rods and new rack & pinion. Sorry this is long..Bottom Line the 12.5 compression ratio is great if you run 110 octane racing fuel probably 450 hp 415 torque, but with unleaded 93 octane it is detonation city. I also had to replace the toploader with one that was shorter and would fit a Mustang w/o major shifter relocation. Made lots of mistakes along the way but just painted it and but new Cragar's and TA's on it and it looks sharp!
Pictures to follow if I don't blow the carb through the hood first. Ha-Ha
Thanks for reading all this if you did,

If anyone needs a built motor I have some spares that are fresh. I have one that is almost a copy of the one in my car and I have an all forged 383W that is sweet! I also have alot of parts. Most parts are new but, S-351 specific. Thanks

RE: Post your combinations and/or hp.
^^ Sounds VERY nice. You need to post some pics/video's of that beast. What kind of cam are you running? Also, how much did the rear run you and where did you get it from?

RE: Post your combinations and/or hp.
I recently took my car out for a test drive(last weekend) and with it not completely tuned yet it feels almost as fast as my 302 with the supercharger on it.That motor was making 400rwhp.
I am excited and impressed at the same time.WOW...
I dont know why i didnt do this before.
Now it's time to finish my friends 429CJ 92' notch.
Thats going to be fast.
