Ive scrapped the 347 stroker idea due to distant future plans of a 408 stroker. As for right now im wanting to use a refreshed 351 bottom end while building up the top end, my question is, what can stock 351w internals hold up because ive heard many different answers, i would like no know the max on the block, rods, crank and pistons. thx

Depends on the year block. The stock crank, rods, and pistons: depends on power adder and rpm's. Find an 71 block if possible. The D9 and E4 casting blocks blocks are the weakest ones. Not to mention they aren't roller capable. The F4 block is the only roller capable block from the factory. Realistically figure on about 400 rwhp being your max if N/A, and about 550 rwhp in blown. With that being said you will have to upgrade your fuel system and electronics to support it.

Ta , the fuel system and electronics is taken care of but i read somewhere you can turn an older 351w into a roller capable block by taping certain areas. It also said the older blocks are stronger than the newer ones, any input?

Do not tap the lifter valley. Not a good idea. On the older blocks you run the retro fit lifters. The D1 and early D4 blocks are stronger than the rest. The C9 blocks are strong but, have a shorter deck height so you have to take that into account if building a stroker or ordering pistons. The D9 and E4 blocks are the weakest. If you want a roller capable block from the factory the F4 block is roller capable. They have taller lifter bores and are tapped for the spider trays.

i wouldnt go more then 500 rwhp on a stock internal set up blocks are usually good to 700-800 if the tune is safe and not detonating

I had a 351w block out of an 95' F150 truck
I used the stock crank and put pistons and rods from DSS
It was good for 640 HP at the wheels with a f1 procharger
After 20 passes i took the supercharger out an ran it all motor
anyway the stock block and crank was good for 640 HP
