Stealership bastards
Well I went to ford for the 15000 mile checkup and came out with a bill of $373. Dear God my poor wallet. quick question could I have done this all by myself.
change oil and filter, fuel filter, PCV Valve, air filter, top of all fluids, lube all hinges and doors inspect the belts and hoese, and lubrication service. I really want to learn how to do this myself.

i suggest u get ur self a Haynes how to book and a set of tools, and a discount card from ur local autozone or whatever. up front cost of admission into self service would be about $200 if u get a case of oil filers and whatever oil u like with aforementioned list u will be well on ur way to doing ur own services on ur car. oh and for fyi u might want to invest in some ramps, jack stands and a good floor jack. so bump up the price to about $300 one-time fee. and tht fee will save u perhaps thousands in the long run. and a night class on auto repair couldnt hurt either, even a basic one.

You could've done all of that for a lot less although I would still have the dealership do my oil change. I hate the cleanup. Used to love doing it but with a family with 3 cars (soon adding a fourth) and all the other day to day stuff I'll gladly pay them to do the oil changes and go about my day.
i went to get my oil changed a week and a half ago and asked how much for the 15k the guy told me the same thing...$300 plus tax. i told him to just change the oil, i'll get the fuel filter and other parts needed at cost and have one of the techs where i work do the work. might cost me parts + a 12 pack. not a bad deal. lol
Wow, that's a lot! I just took my 2001 E-150 conversion van in for maintenance and it only cost me $189.00. That was for oil & filter change, tire rotation and balance plus lubrication and inspection of hoses.
+1 they must have seen you coming
Did they at least use lubrication when they stuck it up yar ****?
Here is how they do it at the stealership
