Default CHIPS IN OUR CARS?

Hey I had a curious question that I figured I would share with my 4.0L family... what kind of chip(s), if any, do our '05/'06 4.0L Mustang's have?? I noticed if I sit in nuetral or with my clutch in, and rev my car it'll max at about 3,900 RPM's and the tac will bounce. (I don't hold the gas down long because I'm paranoid about hurting my baby lol) I've gotten up to 105 and no governor (sorry for spelling) has kicked in or anything but it might be higher. It was just a curious question and if we do have any, can they be safely removed or can any flash tuner (ex. SCT, X-Cal, Diablo Sport) override whatever chips there are in the car?? Thanks alot guys!

The stock limiter is set at about 115 on every 05-06 v6.

yep rev limiter for neutral and when you hold the brakes it goes to like 2200 rpm you can raise them with a tuner

05-06 V6's top out at 113 with the limiter, which is no fun

I'm not trying to be critical of your decision to buy a chip - they're less expensive and both superchips and diablo make good ones - but IMO you should really consider a tuner instead. If you need to return your car to stock you have to pull out the chip and re-insert the stock one. With a tuner you just have to plug and play. Not only that but tuner programs can be updated via USB or serial connection thru your home computer. Anyway, just give it some thought (it might be more cost effective in the long run).

I went to a drag race earlier this year and superchips was there and they told me that chips don't exist for 05 and up models of the mustang and that tuners are used instead. I don't know if anyone changed their mind between now and then and decided to make chips but that's what they told me.
