What is a K&N drop in?

RE: What is a K&N drop in?
a k&n drop in filter is an air filter that replaces the stock paper air filter. It flows a lot more air than the paper one and more air equals more hp. The gains however are subjective...some people say they notice gains while others say they don't. For about $40 it does allow the car to breath better, but many people would reccomend you save up for a CAI (cold air intake) which replaces the whole airbox and maybe intake tube. The AFE intake, which does not require you to retune the cars computer, can be found at mustangtuning.com and says it will increase your hp by 12RWHP while the k&n drop in doesn't really increase the hp by enough to bother to state a gain. The AFE runs about $250.
